Our Sewing, Crochet and Knitting Group meets every Wednesday from 10am to 1pm at the Sanctuary Centre. This creative, hands-on session is open to everyone — whether you’re a complete beginner or already experienced with thread and fabric.
It’s a relaxing and welcoming space where people can learn new skills, share ideas, and work on personal or group projects. From simple hand-stitching and crochet to more advanced sewing, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
A special focus of the group is sewing quilts — beautiful, collaborative pieces made by members using donated fabrics. Quilting allows people to share skills, express themselves, and work as a team. Many of these quilts have been proudly displayed at community events and exhibitions, and some have even won awards.
Many of our members have used the group to build confidence, make friends, and even contribute to community exhibitions and events. All materials are provided, and friendly volunteers are ready to help and support learners at all levels.
