We are always looking for friendly, compassionate volunteers. Many asylum seekers have experienced extreme trauma and loss—leaving behind homes, careers, and family. Your support can help them find safety, dignity, and belonging in a new community.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering is a chance to:

Who Do We Need?

We’re always looking for compassionate and reliable volunteers to join our team. You don’t need professional experience — just time, kindness, and a willingness to help. We need volunteers who can help with:

• Fundraising and crowdfunding
• Befriending and offering emotional support
• Translating (many languages welcome)
• Sourcing furniture and household equipment for new arrivals
• Donating or helping to source initial clothing needs
• Managing or supporting our social media platforms
• Helping families with budgeting and money management
• Providing admin support
• Researching and applying for grants
• Offering transport to medical or important appointments
• Helping run or support fundraising events
• Practising conversational English with people
• Organising or assisting with day trips and outings
• Baking cakes or refreshments for events
• Supporting volunteer training activities
• Sharing your knowledge of local services and systems
• Teaching English (ESOL) or supporting learning groups
• Keeping up with political and legal updates relevant to our work
• Volunteering at the Sanctuary Centre or in our Community Garden
