At Evesham Vale of Sanctuary, we support refugees and asylum seekers by offering both practical help and welcoming community spaces. We know that starting a new life in a new country can be difficult, so we aim to make that journey a little easier by offering services that meet people’s needs and projects that help them feel part of something positive.

Our Projects
Our work is all about building trust, confidence, and community. Whether someone needs help finding a solicitor, attending a health appointment, learning English, or simply meeting new people — we are here to support them.
We run a variety of ongoing projects that bring people together, encourage learning, and offer safe spaces to grow and connect:
- English and Maths Classes
We offer free English (ESOL) and Maths classes at different levels to help adults improve their skills, whether they are complete beginners or want to build on what they already know. These classes help with everyday tasks like filling in forms, speaking to doctors or teachers, and gaining confidence for work or study. - Sewing Group
Our sewing class is a creative, hands-on project where people learn new skills or develop ones they already have. It’s a calm and friendly space where members can sew together, make beautiful items, and build friendships. Some of our sewing work has even been entered into community exhibitions. - Community Garden
We have a lovely outdoor space where people come together to plant, grow, and take care of a shared garden. This project brings joy, fresh air, and a chance to connect with nature — especially important for those who may be feeling isolated or stressed. - Women’s Group
Our women’s group is a safe and welcoming space for women of all backgrounds to meet, talk, take part in activities, and support one another. It’s a chance to relax, build friendships, and feel part of a community that understands and cares.
These projects work alongside our wider services, which include help with schooling, legal advice, clothing, baby supplies, SIM cards, and transport to essential appointments.
Everything we do is rooted in kindness, respect, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel safe, included, and valued.
