Refugee Week Thunderclap 🧡

Join the Refugee Week Thunderclap – 20 June at 12:00pm

Refugee Week is running a coordinated social media campaign called the Thunderclap, encouraging people and organisations to share a message of support for refugees at the same time online.

What is the Thunderclap?

The Thunderclap is basically a digital moment of unity. Instead of people posting separately, supporters agree to share a set message on social media at the same time. This creates a stronger impact and helps the message reach a much wider audience.

It’s designed to show public support for refugees and people seeking safety, while spreading a message of welcome, respect, and inclusion.

The Refugee Week Thunderclap will take place at 12:00pm (midday BST) on Monday 15 June, when everyone involved will share the message online at the same time to create a stronger collective impact.

Refugee Week is an annual festival that celebrates the contributions, creativity, and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.  It takes place every year from 15 to 21 June across the UK and in other countries.

The week brings together a wide range of activities such as arts events, performances, talks, workshops, and local gatherings. The aim is to highlight refugee experiences in a positive way and encourage understanding, connection, and inclusion between different communities.

Refugee Week also works as a platform for sharing stories and perspectives, helping to build awareness about displacement while focusing on hope, culture, and the contributions people make when they rebuild their lives in new places.
