Refugee women’s sewing group wins recognition for award-winning quilts 🏆
We are proud to share that the refugee women’s sewing group run by Evesham Vale Welcomes Refugees has been awarded 4 rosettes for their beautiful quilts at the Malvern Show.
The sewing group meets weekly, bringing women together in a supportive and friendly space where they can learn skills, share experiences, and build friendships. Over time, the group has created a range of handmade items, including the stunning quilts that have now received official recognition.
This achievement is a real celebration of the creativity, dedication, and talent within the group, and we are delighted to see their work being appreciated on a wider stage.
Even better, the quilts are now being showcased to the public as part of a special exhibition for Refugee Week (13–21 June) at Worcester Cathedral.

The exhibition features quilts made entirely by women seeking sanctuary in the local area, each piece reflecting personal stories, journeys, and resilience expressed through textile art.
It is a wonderful opportunity for visitors to see these works of art up close and to support the voices and creativity of the women behind them.
